Frequently asked questions

Handwoven luxury fashion comes with unique textures, heritage techniques, and distinct care requirements. Here are the answers to the questions we receive most often about sizing, fabrics, and washing routines.

Which sizing standards do you use, and how do I measure?

We design to standard EU sizing, with accurate UK and US size conversion tables provided on every product page. Because handwoven textiles are non-stretch, we recommend measuring your bust, waist, and hips while wearing the undergarments you plan to pair with the garment. Then compare those measurements directly to our finished garment dimensions rather than generic body charts.

Do your designs fit true to size?

Yes, over 85% of our international clients confirm our garments fit true to size. We avoid fast-fashion vanity sizing and incorporate relaxed, intentional tailoring. Our wrap dresses and tops offer flexible fits covering EU 34–46 (UK 6–18 / US 2–14), while tailored trousers and skirts feature an additional 1cm ease at the waist for all-day comfort. If you are between sizes on tailored bottoms, we suggest sizing up.

What happens if my order does not fit perfectly?

We understand that purchasing luxury garments online requires confidence. If your piece doesn't fit exactly as you hoped, we offer free size exchanges worldwide to ensure you receive the silhouette you love.

How do I wash and care for handwoven Faso Dan Fani cotton?

Always hand wash in cool water inside a basin using a mild, pH-neutral detergent. Avoid harsh detergents and bleach, as they weaken the cotton fibres and damage natural dyes. For minor spots, spot cleaning is recommended to avoid overwashing. Lay your garments flat to air dry away from direct sunlight.

Will the handwoven fabric stretch or shrink over time?

Our Faso Dan Fani cotton is pre-washed by our master artisans in Burkina Faso prior to tailoring, which stabilises the weave and prevents shrinkage when washed cold. Handwoven cotton has zero elastane; with regular wear, it softens and adapts gently to your body much like premium raw denim, without ever losing its tailored structure or bagging out.

How can I verify the authenticity and ethical creation of my piece?

Every garment features a dedicated QR code on its label. Simply scan it with your phone camera to watch a video of the specific artisan weaving your fabric on traditional looms in Bobo-Dioulasso. We produce strictly in small, conscious batches with zero mass-market inventory games.
